Hello guys..
I do not have too much time in these days - I am extremely busy --
I must say that I watch this forum although not logged on. Too many great picture here!!!
I went shopping last SAT -- I was about to have a break and this guy was finishing his tour on rowing machine. Watching this guy for 2.5 years as he'd been sitting on the machine and thinking this is crazy was the first thought.
Last SAT - 18th DEC - he finished his 'breakthrough' and it was really emotional...
I took a few lenses and I went to see him just 2 hrs before the end - I took a few pictures with Distagon 4/18 and at 12.30 I was back with Distagon 21 and Prakticar 1.8/80 enough I must say..
Anyway -- this is from Wikipedia - a few words about Dave Holby ......
Dave Holby (born 25 December 1980) is a British indoor rowing endurance world record holder. On 18th December 2010 he became the first person to row the virtual distance around the earth's equator (40,075km) on a Concept2 land rowing machine, setting a new Guinness world record of 934 days. He has so far raised £17,500 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. In May 2010, Dave was awarded the Judge's Special Award at the Basingstoke Place To Be Proud Of Awards as a result of his sporting achievements and charitable work.
Dave currently holds one British and seven world indoor rowing records.
• 18 December 2010 - World record for fastest solo row around the earth's equator (40,075km)
• May 2010 - World record for tandem endurance rowing (103 hours), co-rowed with Ollie Trinder
• May 2010 - World record in the tandem 20-29 age category for fastest million metre row (102 hours 32 mins), co-rowed with Ollie Trinder
• April 2010 - World record for most metres rowed in a single season (17,111,960 metres)
• November 2009 - Lightweight world record for endurance rowing (30 hours)
• October 2009 - World record in the individual 20-29 age category for fastest million metre row (227 hours 43 mins)
• July 2009 - Heavyweight world record in the tandem 20-29 age category for furthest 24 hour row, co-rowed with James Burrows (312.726km)
• May 2009 - Heavyweight British record in the tandem 20-29 age category for fastest 100km row, co-rowed with Jonathan James Holby (7hrs 29mins)
..........and I took around 100 pics - all wide open ---
