My friend Marco Cavina just published a Leica M8 test here, after he had it for a few hours...
(and if I may say that, it is not the camera, it is the man behind that makes the results)

Impressive fotos, and you are certainly right, Klaus: not everybody can take photos like this with this camera.

I really like his fingerprint and use of lines through the compositions.

Indeed, he's a gifted photographer for sure and knows how to make his lenses sing!

Very impressive indeed. Nice to see someone using his M8 and displaying his ability with it. And doesn't the old 21mm Contarex Biogon do well?

Maybe you mean Contax Biogon.
There is no Biogon in Contarex lens line (Contarex is SRL)

I agree with Steven the Biogon looks great.

Maybe I'm wrong but the Zeiss Compendium mentions the 21mm f/4.5 Biogon as being available for the Contarex line. Of course it had to be used with the mirror in the up position due to the protruding rear part.

Actually, I found it's no typo. Apparently Zeiss produced a Contarex version of the famous Contax RF lens. Of course, it required the mirror to be lifted up.

All pictures nice and great in all aspects

BUT!

If something without looking at lens details -- really ROCKS --

is

BIOGON!!! wow!! that's a lens!! wow!! and wow!! again !!

The quality of the images is exactly what I would expect from such fine German lenses. Crisp and contrasty. I try for this "look" with my Canon and Nikon gear, but usually don't succeed.

Oh, and by the way, the B&W images look outstanding for digital conversions to my eye.
