It was a dark and stormy night. The hound was under the bed, cowering and shaking at each monstrous thunder claps. The only light in the old, high walled house was a strange blue glow from a cathode ray machine.

Suddenly, despite the exploding skies, and the whimpering dog, and the incessant tap, tap, tap of the communications device, a sudden sharp intake of breath was heard and a low and quiet gathering laugh began.

I had won. I had won against long odds. The instrument was mine and no one else’s. The future had once again been cast with the stroke of one shaking finger.

The instrument:

Muahahahahahahahaha . . .

It's from the early 50s or so. Not as convenient as a hot-off-the-press Sinar but it will do the trick.

Beautiful, Jules! Are you going to use it for a jello mold or what? Laughing
What size film does it shoot? Looking forward to the pics! Cool Smile

300 bucks, that's got to be a steal for this camera...

A cupcake pan! hehehehe

It's a 4x5 I already got some FP4+ It'll be a couple of weeks before I can shoot though.

It's a good deal but not exceptional. Used 4x5s can be fairly inexpensive nowadays but still in the $300-1000 dollar range commonly.

Congrats, Jules.
I prefer the red bellows on those. Mine turned out to have black ones when it arrived. Still, the overall look and feel is very good, and there's no shortage of reference material about the V1 and V2, should you need it.

The red bellows are definitely hot. Jules above pic is the actual camera you're getting? Looks in very good nick.

Yes, it's the actual camera. It's also the original color of the bellows. They made bunches of copies back then. It was a very popular camera.

Really fine!

Is it mainly aluminium? Looks very fragile. How do you keep the rail lubricated etc.

Thanks.

Yes it's aluminum.

I don't know about the lubrication issue (or if there is one). I'm finding there is a lot of info about this camera out there and I've also ordered a users manual which I assume will cover that.

Early Toyo Views are identical as they licenced the design from Graflex, along with the Graphic later on.

Looks really great. What kind of pictures do you want to make with that? Landscapes, studio?
