I now publish some mixed photos from last Sunday, this time I group them by the lens used.
Here's some photos with the Contax Vario-Sonnar 80-200 (on EOS 5D Mark II). There are other Vario-Sonnar pictures in the main series thread http://forum.mflenses.com/historical-parade-in-grazzano-2010-1-t28943.html

The guys with the yew longbows is my favorite. Was this a Renaissance fair with all of the costumes and re-enacting? _________________ Paul

Mediaeval, in fact, but you got the point. _________________ Orio, Administrator

Thanks poilu. What do you think of the VS 80-200?
Wide open it is not performing as the other Contax lenses, but I find the performance stopped down just beautiful.
I don't remember having taken with the Sonnar 180 prime, or the Tele_Tessar 180 prime, images so "airy" as image #39 for instance.
It does not show the "flat" effect of many tele lenses.
The persons keep their dimensionality and you can still feel the spaces between each person. _________________ Orio, Administrator

I don't use often more than 80mm and I was not very excited with the 80-200 on the 40D
on the 5DII, it give better IQ samples
not the 35-70 quality but until I found a 180:2.8 or 135:2, I am happy to have it _________________ T* |

The 2.8/180 is faster, but at f/5.6 quality wise I prefer the 80-200. _________________ Orio, Administrator

Ahh yes. Great capture of the atmosphere, again. My favorite is the trio of fighting men, the background is intriguing and storytelling great. |
