Hi Edgar.

Recently I bought the same chinon lens. Mine is N° 539620 with the "AUTO CHINON" in yellow. I think that it's the last version in Single coat.

It's a good lens for me. And your lens ????

Congratulations !!!

Rino

Indeed it is a good lens. Mine has a different grip on the focus barrel. SN 535441. It's not in the best condition as it arrived with a dented hood & filter ring but it's a work horse and I have repaired it pretty well.

I did shoot with it this weekend so there some snaps here http://forum.mflenses.com/auto-chinon-200mm-f3-5-m42-t27078.html

Some older ones are around here http://forum.mflenses.com/chinon-3-5-200-t16604.html

Sorry Martin.

The rubber didn't enogh for the grip of your lens. Only leatherette. Laughing

There is a seller with a chinon tomioka 2,8/100. Perhaps it can be good too.

DigiChromeEd

Show to us your pics with your new lens !!

Gook luck

Mine is a look alike, but called Chinonflex Autoreflex (701897). Did some testpics last year but was not impressed. May be I have to give it another try. I don't like the min focus distance of 2.70m.

Another brand that's often overlooked. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Woodrim
I was surprised I won it at all as I wasn't watching when the auction closed - obviously you weren't either!

I had no reason to be there, I had to retry my lens! I did and may be I have to be more positive. It is at least worth the € 10 +PP I paid for it
Here is the Chinonflex auto reflex 200mm 3.5 lens:

testpictures @ ƒ 3.5):

and Shadow, my favorite model, impatient because of the long distance (min FD), that did not make him trustfull about his rewarding. You can see that he has some wet thoughts about the payment.

.
Last one needed some correction for overexposure.

To be a wide open pic, a bit low contrast but a good resolution power to my eyes. Sure from F/5,6 it can be better contrast.

About the dog pic, I can't say anything, i like all of them.

Perhaps your lens need another chance, take it.

Rino.

It's so expensive to the US market. The price is for the periferic markets only.

Knowing that, I only ask about the IQ of the lens.

Rino.

Minolfan> Great pics. I live that dog and the bokeh in each look very good.

I agree with Rino that the contrast may be a little low but not a problem with digi and it's really down to taste.

Ofcourse it is not difficult to give a bit more contrast. What was a surprise for me is the bokeh, better than I remembered. In an former comparison it did not clearly win against my old favorite, Vivitar serie 1 zoom 70 - 210mm. Heavier, but with a nice close up. Paid a lot of money for my first one in the early seventies in MD mount (still have and use it on film) and I felt lucky to find a second one in M42 for cheap. But I see now that the lens has right to get a better chance on digital.

The lens arrived today. First impressions are good - it's in near mint condition so probably hasn't been used much. Also, it's heavier than I expected but then I like to know I'm holding a lens and not just a piece of plastic. Firstly, here is the lens:

Next, the first shot I've taken with it. Wide open at f3.5 and closest focusing distance of 2.70M Shocked
