thanks. they are turtles. everyone on the river calls them sliders because they slide off their loggish sunning spots whenever people approach. i had to sneak up on them even with a 400 ...

The turtles are cool. By the way I'm getting in the next couple days what I believe is a Spiratone 400mm f6.3. I can't wait to try it out.

mo-fo, one can catch the little bitty ones in a cast net, or by wading occasionally. the bigger ones occasionally are caught on catfish lines. they are nuisance bait stealers. fortunately, they generally are easy to get off a hook.

Nice pair, Paul, the turtles on the log are a hoot. Like the selective focus
in the first.
