Beautiful saturated colours, Lucius.
Enjoy your stay in Mexico.

Generally, I don't like mafias, but here I'm fond of. Wink

it must be wonderful place to visit!

Wonderful colours -- Lanthar is great but Zeiss really rocks!

wow! do you miss the snow Very Happy

No, I don't miss the snow Laughing Laughing Laughing

Zeiss has color mode set to vivid, others standard (1st is desaturated in pp). I like to punch out more with the Zeiss therefore choice of vivid color mode, and scenery is already very saturated. Plenty of other shots as well, but I'll stick to uploading manual focus lens shots in this topic.

Here is one of my first surf shots. The Voigtländer 180/4 gives good reach but not quite enough on full frame. 300 or 400mm would be near perfect for shooting from the beach. With the 180/4 I need to place myself in the water but the D3 is not as good a swimmer as I am Laughing Laughing

7 - Voigtländer 180/4 @ f/5.6

7b - same photo heavily cropped

8 - Lazy afternoon walking (Voigtländer 90/3.5)

Wow, all super but the feet shot really is special!

Apo Lanthar looks very good but top performers here are the Z lenses, I will have to open the wallet and try one sooner or later. Rolling Eyes

Last one is a beauty( the one with the pidgeon).
You were waiting for the bird to pass by or it just happened?

Superb series, and what a lens!
Many favourites here: The pigeon, the Finnish surfboard, the stairs, the iguana. All of the shots are good really
I'm not sure, but maybe a closer crop of the iguana would work as well. It certainly seems sharp enough for that.

Some more. Semana santa and upcoming Easter is screwing up my schedules so I am looking at taking a car and driving about 1500km. Which isn't exactly great.

Well, at least there are plenty of beautiful things to see here...

Thank you everyone!

It is wonderful to shoot when conditions and light are good. Saturated colors during day, more muted of course in the shadow. Just walk around, think, and find interesting details. It feels a bit like good meditation.

13 - Zeiss ZF 85/1.4

14 - Zeiss ZF 85/1.4

Some more photos from here. This is from a wedding of a friend, the wedding photography was my wedding gift to her.

I am sitting in a beach restaurant and as the sun is shining the postprocessing of these shots is probably quite off target, they're all just about straight conversions to JPEG as I can't see what's on the screen in this light...

15 - Carl Zeiss Planar T* 85/1.4 ZF @ f/2.8

16 - Carl Zeiss Planar T* 85/1.4 ZF @ f/2

17 - Voigtländer 180/4 APO-Lanthar @ f/5.6

18 - Carl Zeiss Planar T* 85/1.4 ZF (didn't nail focus on this one...)

19 - Carl Zeiss Planar T* 85/1.4 ZF @ f/1.4

20 - Carl Zeiss Planar T* 85/1.4 ZF @ f/1.4

The third in this last series is quite unexpected, unusual, refreshing, and very alive. Lovely capture.

I am shooting about 300-500 photos every day so it's getting very very difficult to choose what to upload. Especially that internet is not available all the time. Anyway, I ran into this brick factory and thought these looked really nice.

Again, just quick and straight conversions from RAW to JPEG.

The funny bokeh is a result of hot air rising out of the oven where they burned the clay bricks. The temperature in the oven is probably about 1500 degrees Celsius.

21 - Carl Zeiss Planar T* 85/1.4 ZF

Voigtländer 180/4 APO-Lanthar at blue hour

Some more manual focus lenses to add still, but I also need to compile an AF lens series in another topic.
