All were taken with the D700 and Leica-R lenses. I used a little of Orio's Zeissification instead of sharpening myself, which mostly was not necessary anyhow-if the focus was correct.
The saturated colours are just as they came out of the camera (all RAW). I was astonished myself, like in the first one:
The wedding-season having just begun, one could hear the bands very frequently, and I was of course only too glad to take pictures of these colourful activities.
1)Musicians of a wedding band. 90mm Elmarit ISO 320 @f 2.8:
2)A woman watching what is going on partly hidden by a curtain. Same as above:
3) An elderly man with very strong lasses on the market next to my hotel.
This is a crop, but I intended to crop it in the first place.
Elmarit 90mm, ISO 320 @ f 4:
4) A porter taking a short rest, with one of the heavy sacks he has to carry.
Summicron 50mm ISO 320 @ f 2.8:
The next pictures are from the wonderful town of Jaisalmer, about 1000km to the west of Delhi in the middle of the huge Thar desert.
5) The first one is of a happy cow with immense horns. She always comes to people and wants to be scratched around the ears and shows very distinctly, how much she likes it. The yellowish buildings in the back are coloured golden by the afternoon sun. Jaisalmer is not without reason called the 'Golden city'.
Summicron 50mm ISO 320 @ f 2.8:
6) A man getting out of a bus. I took this pictures from the hip without really focussing.
Elmarit 90mm ISO 320 @ f 4:
7) A musician sitting on the steps in front of the palace in the Jaisalmer fort.
Apo-Telyt 180mm ISO 200 @ f 3.4:
8 ) Muslims normally don't like to be photographed, but many Indian muslims love it. When I saw this gentleman from the state of Sindh, a huge man with henna-coloured hands, some yellowish make-up on his face and black 'kohl' around his eyes, I asked him, if I could take his picture and he felt very flattered. Normally a 28mm lense isn't my favourite protrait lense, but it was just on the camera, and so I used it. The white of the turban is overblown, but I still like the pictures. The colours are incredible, I think. People told me later, he was a singer.
Elmarit 28mm ISO 320 @ f 4:
9) The same man:
10) The last one is from the Meherangarh fort in Jodhpur. I took the pciture through some Venetian blinds.
Elmarit 28mm ISO 320 @ f 5.6
All in all I took about 1300 pictures and will upload the ones I like on my flickr page.
