Can anyone give me an idea of the quality of this lens. The seller is describing as a Nikon 50mm f1.2 not sure if it is a 1.2 or f2.Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Too out of focus to be sure which Nikkor-H it is, but that I am sure of photo it is a 50mm f/2 lens, not 50mm f/1.2.

I have used the Ai version of this lens, it was great center detail from f/2.8 but corners were not brought into detail until f/5.6.

It's certainly a Nikkor-H (6 elements/4 groups) Auto 50mm f/2...

Always beware of someone selling a conspicuously cheap f/1.2 lens, especially if it comes along with a camera body. Usually they've inadvertently or deliberately misunderstood the 1:2 notation. (And in some cases one of the dots in the 1:2 may have worn out and actually left the lens saying 1.2…)

Usually, an f:1.2 would have the glass nearly filling the front.

Yes, an f1.2 lens will have a very distinctive maw, even in a blurry or small image.

Guess it is 1:2 on the front end Smile

The lens seems to be Nikkor-H Auto 50/2, which is very good lens only with
mono-coating. The lens performs almost equal to Leica Summicron-R 50,
and has flat field without much of distortion, sharp enough at wide open.
