This is superb, and really rewarding when you know that no snowflake is the same.

Please post more! I guess it's not easy to do, can you tell us something about your setup?

Thanks for comments!! Smile
I`ll try to describe my technique.
So, first you need cold weather (-10...-15C) Ice from the refrigerator is not good, it doesn`t contain symmetrical ice crystals. You need SNOW. Not every kind of snow is suitable for taking photographs, you have to wait for single snowflakes but they are very rare... i got them only two times in past winter..
Next accsessory is adjustable microscope table with focusing knob.Microscope tube is removed. On that table is transparent glass plate for snowflakes. Camera is placed on tripod and faced down to that table. Focusing is done with microscope focusing knobs, without touching the camera and lens. Snowflakes i am picking up with thin paintbrush and very CAREFULLY (don`t breathe!!) put them on the glass plate. About half of all snowflakes become useless - they simply get broken.. Smile

Excellent work indeed and very hard to achieve I know!!

More on scientific snowflake photography is here (from CalTech):

Maybe we should track back to the one who did that first in 1885 with more than 5000 amazing shots
during his lifetime and who influenced centuries, the "Snowflake Man" Wilson A. Bentley:
