Hi there..
This a set of samples taken on EOS 5D Mark II.
The lens was set at infinity on MY REQUEST.
I can mount it on the 5D MkII but the best way (and only one in my case ) for using is LiveView mode
I had to mount and dismount the lens for EACH SHOT in this GALLERY!! It sounds strange but ....I am considering to shave the mirror on 5D Mark II.
I was lucky -- some nice things happened yesterday when testing the lens!
I stopped the aperture at f/4 in most cases..
Colour rendition is amazing,
CA well controlled even at initial aperture..
sharpness is speaking for itself...
bokeh is creamy and nice even at f1.2 in my view..
1 - f/2.8 - f/4 (something like that)
2 f/1.2 - I do remember this shot..
3 f/2.8 - f/4 (something like that)
4 f/2.8 - f/4 (something like that)
5 MY GUITAR - 1 f/1.2 - I do remember this aperture..
6 MY GUITAR - 2 f/1.2 - I do remember this aperture..
7 f/8 - some flare, otherwise CA is well controlled .. propably only one shot made at f/8
8 f/4 - f/5.6 (something like that)
9 f/4 - out of focus a bit
10 f/2.8 - f/4 - (something like that)
11 f/2.8 - f/4 - (something like that)
12 f/2.8 - f/4 - (something like that)
the second set is coming soon

So its the mirror hit problem?
Why you must remove lens with every shot? Isnt the live view mode made with mirror always up?
I'm planning to buy 5d mark2 but I'd have to shave mirror, most of my lenses will hit mirror. But I don't want to loose waranty?
I know there were some threads on that problem, but I couldn't find them.
Is there possibility that you have one extra non shaved mirror system and change it when you would need to repair something else on warranty? Is it possible to change mirror without professional help?
Thanks!
If there is some similar thread about that, can you please post a link, I made a search but cant find it _________________ I use: Flektogon 2.8/20, Flektogon 2.8/35, planar 50mm/1.4, Takumar 1.4/50mm, Takumar 1.9/85, MIR 24H, Mir1v, Industar-50-2, Helios-44-2, Pentacon 2.8/135, cyclop 85 1.5 |

Brilliant photos, Trifox!
You don't mention if the lens is an 85mm f/1.2 L or 85mm f/1.2 SSC Aspherical. Which is it? I own an 85mm f/1.2 SSC Aspherical, which is why I'm curious. _________________ Michael

In this case -- 85 f1.2 -- the rear part of the lens is going deeply into mount..
and the rear glass is in FIXED position .. doesn't matter what distance you have focused on..
I would say -- the shaving of the mirror is a good thing . -- I have heard that Canon may replace this for 250 USD if damaged or so..
But I wouldn't risk to damage the lens ..
