Have a couple Zuikos to try with it as soon as it arrives. If I find any issues,
off it goes to John Hermanson, one of the best to send it to in the states.

Click here to see on Ebay

Well that should bring the Olympus fans out, seem a good price.
For me the basic OM10 put me off Olympus, yet my basic Nikon EM hasn't put me off ever owning a better Nikon.

The Nikon EM was my first SLR, but developed film advance issues.
I'm told the build quality of the earlier OM's is very good.

The black OM's tend to get a little silly as to price on the bay.

Thanks for your comments, Excalibur.

I used to dream about getting an OM2, it was a great system. Congrats on the purchase.

Thanks, Paul, though it is listed with included batteries, I have a bunch of
357's (silver oxide) if they suddenly go bad. That is one of the nice things
about the 2, easy-to-find (and cheap!) batteries.

I like the look of the Oly cameras. I've only M42 lenses now and trying not to add any more equipment. Let me know what you think of the camera when you get some use out of it.

IIRC John Hermanson recommends the OM2n for the least problems for an old camera..........battery drain can be a problem if you are unlucky.

Don't forget to turn on and off camera other ways it will eat battery within two days. Nice trustworthy camera I had it also and I will buy again I am sure. Congrats!

That was quite a good deal, great for you. I also had this camera, very pleasant to use and discreet, huge viewfinder and quite shutter. Sold this week.

Many Zuiko lenses on ebay actually 50mm are good deals and 135mm as well . macros and stuff ....

Nice score, Bill. As a long-time user of the OM1, I'm dead in favour of everybody getting one. I fancied a 2, but was always leary of relying on batteries if it was the only camera with me on the day. Price isn't a problem nowadays, though.

Martin, will post some shots when I receive it, can't wait.

Excalibur, a friend at NikonCafe said this model is a very good one, (he
could tell by the hotshoe, but he didn't elucidate).

Attila, I always turn the camera off when not in use, thanks for the warning.

Hexi, I'll be looking for more Zuiko glass, now.

Dave, yes, prices have dropped from the last time I was looking for these,
and the chrome ones were going for more than what I paid.

Thanks for your comments, fellas.

Bill

Well done! That looks a good deal.
OMs and zuikos are one of my favourites. I use an OM4 quite a lot but have just cleaned up an OM10 - which can be picked up for pennies at the moment - to use over the next couple of weeks.
Look forward to some samples.

Here are some hurried test shots so I could post feedback on the auction:

Cheap Memories 200 film, CVS scans

Doesn't seem to be any issues as to the metering or light leaks. I did
have to replace the batteries, but have plenty of the 357's. This is using
the Zuiko 1.8/50 which I knew to be a good performer from my Olympus
e300 days.

Congrats for your new cam and the nice pictures.

Got one a couple of weeks ago with the Zuiko 1.4/50 but never used it so far. But in the meantime I could buy an additional winder also for less money so I will start asap.

Rolf, that is one nice product photo! Mine is the OM-2, not 2n, but find
it a pleasure to use! The camera body is even more compact than my
Vivitar XC-3 (Cosina-made). Another thing I found was considerate is
the ribbing around the rewind knob, when you have to pull it out to open
the camera. First camera I've seen this done.

Looking forward to seeing your efforts with this camera!

Bill

The cat looks very grainy, was it the scan? 200 should produce a finer grain than that.

Koni Omega.. that is your cam Wink

Spiralcity, dunno why it came out that way, certainly modest grain in the
cymbal shot...???

Attila, yes, the Koni is my fave, but the little Oly is nice and compact! Wink
