You know the sort. In good condition. The more `interesting' the pattern the better.

Anyone got one they don't want?

I got my three off eBay for under 35USD for the three. They are all new old stock. As soon as I got them, my kids grabbed them all. Guess I'll have to try again .....................

I've still got one of those somewhere... was never a hippy strap, just some different pattern, man.

I've one you can have for postage only. I'll post a pic soon.

It's from around 1975, and in great condition.
No snags in the weave, no rust on the metal.
The inner surface is velvet; it's worn only at
the edges, and only on the wrinkles. I believe
the ends to be genuine leather, though I am
not 100% certain.

Edited to add description and pics

As I alluded up there, they were never 'Hippy' straps, merely an alternative to the often over-priced makers' straps which often didn't come with a used camera, and were favoured by those who didn't feel like walking around with a huge free advertisment around their neck.

I never liked them in their day, preferring a plain webbing strap which I still use.
But, I used one all last week and was very self conscious at first - until I realised no one noticed - or gave a damn. They seem a bit shorter than others though.

So why do you want one?

I've got a couple now, but I do like the one that Craig posted up. Is it still available?

Yep, it's available.

How about we do this:

If you want it, you simply cover 2 or 3 dollars, American, for postage?

I don't much care for the thing, and it's a relic from my early days
of learning about photography. It's no longer of interest to me,
and serves only to remind me why I hate film and all of film's incarnations.

So if you want it, I'll gladly send it to you, for just a couple of Pounds/
Euros/Dollars. It's up for grabs, so let me know.

Oh dear! Bad experiences?

I'll pm my address.

Got freaked out by a giant spool of Plus-X. Smile

I remember these straps well: often bought to replace the stiff plastic narrow straps supplied with new cameras in those days. Apart from being too conspicuous the abundance of metal bits make the camera less pleasant to the hands. These days I use the earlier type Nikon plain black webbing straps, especially those which are a little wider in the middle, and pick out the stitches to remove the faux suede patch too.

These are the same kind of straps as guitar straps, some fellow musician
friends in the late 60's/early 70's would convert them to camera straps.

I like them !

They go with my favorite Hawaiian shirts, they make me inconspicuous.
