I previously posted some images from this area quite a while ago.
These are the secondary images that didn't make the first cut.

This is in the high country of the Olympic mountains.

Please pardon the scanning dust and other problems, these are
simply to show the area's beauty. I'm pretty sure that some of
these are repeat postings. Embarassed

Larry, I would see these a hundred times without any bore!
How could you get so close to the deer? Shocked

Thank you, Orio! Since this deer was not used to humans, it
took a while to get close. Basically, you need to act like a
deer, and pretend you are feeding from things on the ground.
Then by moving slowly and acting like you don't even
acknowledge the deer's presence, you can get almost within
touching distance.

It took me a little more than an hour to get in close.

This countryside is my favorite place, Ron. Lots of high country roaming available.

Not too difficult to do, tri! Hop a jet, land at Seattle, and you are
about three hours from a trailhead. Another day and a half of
hiking, and you are in the middle of it! I grew up here, so the
familiarity is a big bonus, as I can travel off-trail and still know
where I am in relation to mountain landmarks. It's a joy to have
this friendly alpine country at my disposal. Last year I was out
for 9 days, and only saw one other human - on the first day. Shocked

I guess its better to be late than to totally miss your great shots of that beautiful area you call home. Very Happy

Great shots as always, which Lana seconds.

Though thanks to that shot she wonders if I can get that close to "tamer deer" on our coming vacation. Shocked

Best wishes,
Jim

I have no idea how I missed this thread. Laurence you really do justice to what is one of the most scenic places in the world.
