This is a tricky lens. The Icarex bayonet is bigger in diameter than the EOS mount, so no was to adapt it to infinity.

I bought this lens for a fistful because it had sticky blades.
So I decided some time ago to try to "convert" it which was much more difficult than I had expected.

I had to remove the whole rear part including the aperture control - not really a problem since the diaphragm has problems anyway.

Then I realized that without the rear part there is way to re-assemble it without losing the original focus functionality. What now?

Well, I have found a way around it by using the helicoid differently - it works but if you turn it too far the lens will fall apart.

My first idea was to mark the "risky zone" with three silver stripes which doesn't help that much because you don't see them when you use the lens. What I needed was a mechanical limiter and the only thing I could think of was something outside the lens.

Oh my... this doesn't really look elegant, but it works.

And the results are, even wide open out in the flaring sun, not bad at all:

And an unsharpened 100% crop taken from the fourth image (no PP):

In other words: If you can find this lens in M42, don't hesitate!

The second shot of your kids and the crop are outstanding! Like the yellow
flower shot, too. Trying to remember, didn't Orio post some shots from this
lens?

Lovely colours and saturation, from those.

Or in Voigtlander Deckel and buy one of Alex's adapters. These must be one of the most overlooked 135s around - a shame really, as they are so good.
