Blackness will always happen with slower lenses or when stopped down.
All split screens have a sweep spot /range. More expensive screens (Contax, Leica, ...) will have a larger sweet spot range. _________________ No longer member , please don't try to contact to him |

The standard screens are custom ordered by my supplier (in qty of 100 ~ 200 pcs). I think they will be similar or higher quality as the minolta screens.
A few members have these screens installed, and i hope that they will provide some feedback.
If you want a different screen, please pm me. _________________ No longer member , please don't try to contact to him |

How do they do at, say, f/5.6? That would pretty much be my "slowest" aperture setting...
One more Q...does it have the microprizm "collar" around the edges, like older SLRs?
The expenses keep piling up this month...$10-40 things are killing me! _________________ Pentax Bodies: K10D + D-BG2 | MX |

This is excellent news!
I would surely trust screens from Alex to be of better quality
and alignment than the 'el-cheapo' offerings from ebay sellers.
In what configuration(s) are they to be offered?
Specifically, I would be interested in a horizontal center split with a
microprism ring around the center. _________________ Craig

This is exactly why I'm so excited about this new announcement!
Haoda Fu = approx. US $75
Katz Eye = approx. US $175
MFlenses = US $30
Judging by my past purchases from MFlenses/Alex, I fully expect these
focusing screens to be far better quality than the cheap ebay sellers'
offerings.
I only want a horizontal split center with microprism outer ring, and I'll be happy! _________________ Craig

Having used the split screen this past few days, I would say I am able to focus at f5.6 under bright light. However, it is pretty difficult to focus at f5.6 under very dark conditions. That is when I revert back to open to the largest aperture, focus and then lock to smaller aperture. _________________

Lets see the reviews.
I bought a cheap one form China, but it was too dark and not especially well made. Took it of and rely now on the focus indicator.
Black outs allways happen, issue is how soon (in the F range) do they happen.
I'd really like a 45deg. split-prism. _________________ TWAPSI - The World As Photography Sees It |
