Click here to see on Ebay

Did anyone try this adapter yet?
Look at the lock mechanism on the actual mount ring.
I never saw any like this.
The ring itself looks like crappy aluminum.

Please let me know if you have any thoughts or experiences.

Cheers
Andy

Looks like it's designed to be attached to the camera first, so you don't have to put one on each lens or spend time switching adapters. IF all your lenses are C/Y...

I got several adapters from DVD Technik and although I didn't get this specific one, all mines are well built and rock solid, and perform really well. I got the M42-EOS with the same chip and it has been working fine since I bought it. The only problem is that the one I got (the M42 chipped) didn't fit the 5D of a friend. The mount was slightly thicker that the needed for the 5D. On all the other cameras (1D, 350D, 10D) works like a charm. I bought it more than one year ago, probably the current models are more precisely tuned. And no, mine is not crappy alu but solid metal.
Most of mine are unchipped, I do prefer the split focusing screen way. Once you get it properly adjusted, it's much more precise (to my taste).

Kind regards,

Jes.

Looks interesting. I never saw this kind of lock mechanism.
But I don't think that it's designed to be attached to the camera first. This would not work with CY lenses, because you would not be able to release the lens from the adapter.

I just wonder about the benefits of the programmable chip, except the better exif data.

Okay, I bought one. The adapter arrived this morning.

The material is much more interesting than crappy aluminium.
It seems to be chrome coating over brass, but before you are able to see this, you have to remove the much more crappy aluminium spray. Shocked

You remember the spray we used in the 80's for our wheel rims? Excatly, it's covered with something like this. With small small dents.
The "hook" instead of the spring - to keep the lens in place - works fine. It's tight enough, no wobbling.
AF confirmation seems to be okay too, I tried a few test shots, I did not try infinity.
Programming is a pain, I only managed to set the aperture.

I'll try to remove the sprayed aluminium, because I'm always short with Adapters and beside the strange coating it seems to be fine.

Probably a hammer-finish coating. The Curse of Hammerite strikes photography. Smile

Yep, it took only 30 years Crying or Very sad

Btw, tried infinity focus today - not working.

My curent adapter is from Big-IS, performs well enough except the nagging side to side wiggle room. I am considering this adapter. But no infinity?

Besides the well known, Kindai/CameraQuest and HappypageKH, are there any other worth considering?
