Wow, what a great series. I really get a sense of the past. The Distagons looks like a great lens to me, even though I see some abberations in the corners. Or better: the left side looks less sharp to me. Am I right or am I getting old?

If you refer to the wide open shot, it is possible in a f/1.4 wideangle lens that a corner might be slightly weaker than another, although I never observed that on my lens to happen consistently. In this particular shot however I am not parallel to the subject, and the right corner is closer to the focal point than the left corner: I think this is the reason why the left corner looks a bit softer.

Your wish is my command Wink
I don't have many samples of that day because the Exakta adapter does not lock the lens to the EOS cameras and it was very discomfortable to shoot people in motion without being able to focus safely.
This is the best other take that I can offer:

@ Patrick: thanks Smile

Great stuff again!
Not only do you have such beautiful countryside but these fun events Very Happy
It's great to see them.

You had a lot of lenses with you. Shocked
Did you let Carsten pack your camera bag?

Kidding of course. Still the 1.4/35 for me. I guess I won't say it anymore you probably believe me.
I must find a Contax version. The Rollei one I have is too difficult to use past f4 because of odd triangle highlights. (wonder why Wink )

Laughing
in fact I had 6 lenses which is quite unusual for me, I normally have 3-4
But I doubled the 75-90 focal range, because I did not trust the Biotar for the fast action shooting, so I also took with me the Planar 85

Well, I always say that I could use only the 1.4/35 and live happy Smile
It's such a dream lens for me: my preferred focal lenght (35mm), fast (1.4), best coating that I ever found (I can shoot straight into strong light and get no flare, without hood), best 3D rendition that I ever found, built like a tank... it's my #1 lens, but I am saying this from such long time that probably everybody is tired of reading that so I don't repeat Laughing

Amazing!!

The colours are fantastic and the 3D effect of the 1.4/35 is overwhelming.
The 5D2 seems to be a perfect match with the Zeiss lenses (in the right hands, of course!).
