Zenit Bodies in the U.S?

I was wondering if anyone in the U.S. would be willing to part with their Zenit camera body/ies? Unfortunately I tried contacting John (sichko) about his wealth of zenits, but the shipping is unfeasible from the UK.

My goal is to have several semi-identical bodies loaded with different films (I always get stuck with the wrong film for the situation). I've become so comfortable and enamored with the design and layout of the zenit, I like the idea of being able to interchange without much thought. And since my ex-girlfriend (who still happens to be my avatar) decided to split with some of my nicer cameras (the tls and Prakticas) and lenses (way to sad to mention the ones I lost), I'm left with nothing but my trusty zenits.

So anything from the e-series would be great! This includes B, E, EM, ET, 10, 11, 12, 122. Condition is not an issue. I'd prefer not having to deal with a shutter but I gotta learn sometime right? I'd greatly appreciate any help and would be more than willing to offer a little money on top of shipping. Thanks!

~Marc

Yes I have one in very good condition that's just gathering dust. It came with a lens I wanted. (I have othet M42 bodies that I use)

I'll check it this evening.

Yes it's a Zenit 11. I don't know whether the meter works or not. Everything else seems to work fine.

Let me know.

I also have a Porst body, very similar to the Zenit.

I figured I'd try to refresh this topic, in case anyone missed it the first time and now that it is behind some newer threads. I am still looking for a couple of bodies if anyone would be willing. I will hopefully be making a Zenit for lens trade in a couple of days with Jules, if he is still interested.

I might have a f1.8/55mm (pre-ebc) up for trade in a little while. I can't yet comment on its condition since I haven't received it but the last thing I need is another standard. So if that is of interest to anyone...

Many thanks
~Marc

Thank you kindly for the offer but I have no use for a K-mount camera. I'm an m42 kinda guy I suppose. Very Happy

Hi mate

Sorry to hear your news. I have loads of zenits, and you are right, the E, EM, 11 and 12 are damn heavy! Over a kilo!! This would cost about £12.50 GBP to ship. I have some Zenit B models however, and these are about 400g lighter...which works out at about £8.50 GBP if I sent one.

If you are interested, let me know. I'd only want £5.00 GBP from you for the postage Smile

Are Zenit bodies that rare in the US Shocked ? zomg here in Europe there's actually a huge amount of Zenits, mostly the "E" i think. About the handling, i don't know: apart of the weight, they are pretty roughly made for what i know. But i guess they probably suit for your project, if you need various cameras at a low price.
