The lens was really nice surprise. I can't compare to any other 300mm lens, but compared to Sonnar 180/2.8, the TAIR seems to be a bit sharper to me.
Other positive thing is tripod mount, which is compatible with both standards (two threads). |
Congratulations and welcome to the Tair-3 club
It's very sharp lens, a bit sharper than "snajper" version, but with a bit higher CA intensity.
But be aware, that this mount has low flat area and is polished so it's not really reliable without a piece of thin rubber between the lens and tripod

On the other hand, the lens is quite heavy and I'm not sure, if my shaky hands would be able to create sharp image without tripod.

The heavier the lens, the harder to shake it

Here are some quick samples as presentation of the sharpness. The picture with church is less sharp, because of almost 5km distance(!) Haze in air reduces resolution and contrast.
I'll try some bokeh shots later |
Bokeh is not tremendous, but the front and back one looks really good _________________ analog system: Pentax K & M42
