There's an old ford going back to whenever which was replaced by a neighbouring bridge a couple of hundred years ago.

The old main street which led down to the ford, taken from the waterside. Now it's just a lane and all the old stonework that was part of the front of the buildings is now the rear courtyard and shed walls of the later properties lining the 'new' road - new in 1700 and something.

This is the 'new' bridge. Unluckily, the bloke who stopped there for a look has a pole growing out of his head. Buggrit.

Not sure if this used to be a mill building or not - it has the look of one. There were mills almost the entire length of this river at one time, some of them going back nearly 1000 years.

All pics Tamron 28/2.5 and K10D. Some straightening of verticals and CA correction, but not much needed.
