I see lots of lenses for sale with small scratches, or like this one, much worse! As long as the lens is not 'chipped' so that the glass has conchoidal fractures which can create a lot of distortion and flare, the lenses are usually fine to take pictures with as this example shows us!

I knew a pro who put the lenses in the bag with tghe front to down without the cap, only put the rear caps.

Attila, all of you say occur because the amateurs (like me) have a little collector in our heart.

That is right Rino, but pretty ridiculous how people not take scratched lenses.
Even if they not collector and make scratches pretty soon on mint items.

That bad custom I had left of when bought leica lenses and the scratches ones have smaller value of resale and as item to collect.

But if buy to take pics, welcome front scratches.

I second Rino. Scratches are bad for resale, no prob for shooting (mostly).

I just fill any bad scratches with a black felt tip pen and no worries. Smile

Do you think that the lens posted by CarbonR can be use with the "opus" of the black pen?

Seriously, it could be a great solution, for me at least.

Rino.
