I bought this lightmeter 3 months ago I did put Zinc-Air battery inside it worked beautifully. I did know short term usage of batteries, I didn't know that when batteries not powerful enough lightmeter still works. I didn't checked battery condition with test button. It provided me strange data , but I did trusted in. Result is completly wrong slide. I had to learn need to check light meter at every time after two months period.

Geez Attila. You scared the hell out of me and I run to test the lightmeter (Lunasix 3 here too). Ok, it points into the red mark.. pffff...

Btw I did put my batteries into early late summer I remember, very strange that yours are already exausted.

I have the Luna SBC which uses a PP3 9v battery, but I just put a NiMH rechargeable in it when I got it. So far I've had to recharge it once in 18 months - it lasts for ages and I always check with the test button before use.
Of zinc-air cells - my Mamiya 645j is using a pack of them made up in a cardboard tube to replace the original battery - they've lasted for months too.

Why that? I'd be extremely surprised if the (relatively late) J wants or needs them.

The original Mamiya 645 already was designed to use a 6V silver oxide PX28 battery, and will work nicely on the PX28L lithium replacement (only the old CdS finders may be very slightly off when run on 6.0 rather than 6.2V) - and all later M645's I've ever had wanted the same. There is no point in running them on self-made mercury or zinc-air cell packs, which only have 5.4V.

Simple enough - cost.
There was no way I was going to pay the price being asked locally for the 'correct' battery. They can shove it, the greedy gits.
PS. 5x1.35=6.75V which it runs happily on.
