My cheapo Yashica ML 50mm 1.4 just got home, and I've been practicing a little. I like the results it is giving me. Here are some of my first shots:

What do you think?

The Yashica 50 / 1.4 is regarded as a very good lens.
You have a good taste!

Thank you all. I really believe the 1.4 aperture can bring me some new results in photography, mainly in portraits, when I need to isolate the subject from the background. I did a test I got a blurred background that was almost at the same distance as the subject (almost miss the focus though because of the little DOF).

Thank you a lot Smile
It was the most thought shot. The others were candid shots. But in the 2nd I would have wanted a bigger DOF, but the light was terrible. I shoot it at ISO 800 and 1/30sec, at f2.8, so I couldn't close the diafragm more than that or i would shake.

No. 2 is an excellent shot, simple but yet inventive.
I also like the atmosphere in #1. How about BW and a closer view on that one?

I thought taht.. I don't like the colours very much in it..But I'm not very good in BW conversions. Maybe I'll try Wink
