That's correct.
I've been using a mixture of metal and rubber hoods for years. It doesn't matter which, a rubber hood is better than none, and I find the rubber ones to be perfectly fine.

I never put any hood on my lens as I never see contrast fallout or flare on T*
for shock protection when I am in a crowd, I hide the lens in my hand

I only want hood to my planar 50mm 1.7 and my biotar 58mm f/2 for now.. |
