I have a a chance to buy a great lens (I suppose): the CZJ Sonnar 8.5cm F/2.
This example was made in 1946. Originally it had the Contax mount, but it was converted into M42. Starting price is 149 PLN (about 41€). The glass is clean, mechanically everything is OK. Is it worth to (try) buy this lens?
Many thanks for your advices. Regards!

Ask to try the lens first.
Contax mount is rangefinder, M42 is reflex.
There can be infinity focus problems.

Hubert you must!
I gave $400 for mine with Contax mount.
It is the prize of my collection.
Here are two large size and a thread with some bokeh comparison.

I asked the seller... according to his answer, the lens keeps full focus scale with infinity. The Sonnar:

Without infinity also great if distance is enough for portraits!

Attila: I think the same. It may be a good tool for portraits or flowers' pictures.
