Does anyone know if the 5D Mk-2 mirror has been changed at all from the original 5D or is the new version of the 5D just as likely to have problems with converted lenses as the old one? |

Canon's marketing manager of digital imaging section said, as I rememer
now, the mirror of mkII will swings back and up so that there is more room
for 3rd party lenses. He said it clearly a couple of months ago, but I never
heard any other related things about mkII since then.
So take it as a rather big grain of salt. _________________ Our Home Page has 18,200 photos in 575 directories today.

It looks the same.
I hope it is more compatible.
My 5D had it's mirror shaved last week.
Now I have no clearance problems but the mirror is Ugly if I decide to sell the camera.
Probably won't sell it does not have 4K cycles yet
Here is a thread that I posted a pic of the 5D II mirror.
It looks exactly the same.
If what Koji learned about the new camera is true maybe it is a solution.
Maybe not for all lenses
Scroll down to the pic

Yeah, the new mirror looks the same. Thanks for the photo.
Anyway I cannot afford another dSLR now, nor need one.
I will shave the mirror of my 5D definitely before X-mas
not because I want to shoot SantaClaus with a Prakticar.
Long live 5D! _________________ Our Home Page has 18,200 photos in 575 directories today.

You will never sell it, just replace it when it dies. _________________ Orio, Administrator

Or just sell it to a MF lens fan. _________________ Personal forum activity on pause every now and again (due to job obligations)!
