In my opinion it's not really the saturation but perhaps a tad too much contrast?

About Krisztina taking the camera: consider it a tax. Laughing

Laughing Yes , contrast is too much indeed.

Oh Cool you already tried it!

I like the first one especially.
You will have a lot of good experiences with this cam.
Plus I think we will start a trend like the trioplan and pancolar and Electro and ......................................who's next? Wink

A very nice lens. I know a few people who have it and they produce great work with it. I like the idea of buying a S/H Bessa just to use this lens.
I wish there was a 10 or 12mm good prime for crop DSLR.

I like the first one, too, let's have some more, Attila! Smile

attila - I like your pics ---.. Smile

I have bought the Bessa L body and trying get the 4.5/15 Heliar as well (may be the 12)

HELIAR 15 (and 12) IS CONTRASTY lens --
perfect for landscapes and interiors..
dont worry about the contrast Smile its OK.. Smile

thanks for your sharing! Smile

HEY!
I found the subject in #3.
It is the tip of Krisztinas finger in the lens when she took the shot. Look in the bottom left corner Laughing Laughing

Joking aside
I agree with Luis on this third one.
The perspective and high contrast make for a dramatic view of this Majestic scene.
I can hear heavy Brass music playing in the distance. Excellent composition choice.
Too bad for the cars. Nothing can be done about them Rolling Eyes

I did have the Bessa L and the 21mm Color Skopar, and it was a very versatile camera indeed! I liked the minimalist look of the Bessa L, with no extra buttons and rings. I traded it away for other equipment, but am still impressed with the overall function and looks.

Easy to left finger in picture Embarassed , it makes small spaces too huge , viewfinder is so, so bright. Such a small camera with small lens. I am really impressed.

Me too Ron, Peter and Koji made beautiful autumn pictures I would follow them at least a bit.

Totally awesome Attila. What a spread, and I presume that is without distortion correction ? ie rectilinear?

I have no clue Patrick Embarassed I hope Andy able to answer.

Patrick,

It has very little barrel distortion, but you have to use a ruler to see.
Eye ball can't detect it easily, if you want no distortion you got have
Hologon 16mm. Very Happy

The first one has hand-shaked (1/4 second hand-held), the second one
shows barrel distortion a bit as you see. The both were taken by M8,
so angle of view is about same as 20mm lens for 135 format.

PostPosted: Thu Sep 11, 2008 9:35 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

I'd qualify this distortion as "just a negligible trace", considering it's a 15mm lens.

I can't believe a lens that wide can be so well corrected. Go compare some of the pics from 17 and 16mm lenses in other threads.
