Not really.
Village was at the feet of the castle.
The castle was on a hill.
As often in middle age, village inhabitants can enter the castle and be under their lord's protection.
Here is a link. It's a very good hotel.

in french : le droit de cuissage...
Is it possible that its traduction is "the droit du seigneur" ? That's what google traduction tells... _________________ Olivier - Moderator

WOW. Very good french, my dear Peter.
You surely were a french count or duke in a previous life.
Did you know Boulogne had a count and a very famous knight you went in crusade to become king of Jerusalem ?
His name is Godefroy de Bouillon.

trop froid pour toi ?
Well, if it's too cold, it's a good reason to warm with a charming Mademoiselle. _________________ Olivier - Moderator
