Today my latest Contax acquisition arrived, the Tele-Tessar 300mm f4.0.
Thanks Klaus, for your help finding this bargain!

Honestly, I just need it to realize a 3D project. I'm not used to focal lenghts beyond 135mm. But I really start to like it.
Enough words, let's see some fresh samples - most of them plants again, sorry about that, my cat showed up too late. Wink

Thanks friends! I love that shot too, it was worth to wait in the grass, already forgotten the ant bites and thistles Smile

Well I promised myself just to keep it for the project, but... Rolling Eyes

Okay, more from my friend Gato, the bravest cat I've ever seen. Everyday he's hunting my neighbors hunting dog - not kidding. Shocked

Great captures with a nice lens, this lens is still on my list.

Yep, I'm sure, he's a male!
He's a real adventure-seeker.

He "found me" two years ago, nearly famished, shot by hunters (buckshot), lost one eye. Crying or Very sad There are still some shreds in his lungs, but he's fine, as you can see Smile

Okay, here's the proof Smile
not Tele-Tessar, Planar 1.4/50 and he's still too fast

Very very impressive. I suppose one must expect this ind of quality from a contax, but these are great and impressive shots

Thanks Poilu and Patrick,
I'm impressed by the contrast of the Tele-Tessar, this is beyond my expectation. I tried a Sigma 70-200 from a friend, not usable wide open, lack contrast.
Yep, focussing works fine, I'm very happy with my keeper-rate, after 9 months of shooting MF lenses only. Wink
Perhaps it's like playing an instrument, pratice practice practice and patience Smile

I'm really impressed Shocked It doesn't have the "flattened" look like a long lens. If I had to guess I wouldn't say it was over 85mm...

I like all the pics of Gato in the grass Wink

Impressive shots Sandy!

Great that it tunrned out to be a great lens (I only know the Hasselblad type which is tack sharp)!

The kitty pics are wonderful and reveal the resolution and contrast of that lens.

Well, time for an Apo I guess....LOL

Cheers,
