How usable is this lens at 2.8? I read on adaptall-2.org that it is supposed to be quite sharp, but I'd really like to see some pictures as well ... can you please share some?

I read the website too and they say it is sharp unless you use one of the soft-focus levels, that is where the special portrait capabilities start to show. I see it as a very specific purpose lens. Nice.

I recently got one too. Also one of the most expensive manual zooms I own (after OM Zuiko 35-80 f2.Cool, but mine is a completely cleaned up and serviced version. I've taken a handful of photos with it. The softness 1 setting is useful. The softness 2 or 3 might be too much.

This was a lens I always wanted until I owned a soft focus lens, then later sold it. Laughing

The lens is very sharp, compact to be f2.8, and can serve as multiple purpose lens.
Finding a case where it can be use with soft settings is far more harder.

May be I am not familiar with such cases since I always focus on sharp image and bokeh.

soft focus usage is very limited in my opinion too, I can imagine for glamour shoots, wedding shoots etc.

Yes that's what I thought.

I'm not keen on the look this lens has though.

NIce indeed, soft effect never works to me, without soft effect a very nice lens.
