This is one of the Tamron Adaptamatic series lenses that came out between 1968-1973.



It has the curious and clumsy Adaptamatic interchangable mount, but otherwise is a very conventional lens of its day, including being surprisingly large for its specifications, which was typical of early automatic lenses. This is an extremely solid, well made lens, mechanically this may be the high point in Tamron workmanship. It focuses quite close for what it is - 1 foot/1/3m, making it useful for "product shots" and similar closeups, and thankfully for DSLR users it has a manual/auto switch.

As for performance, I have to say that it is adequate, it didn't surprise me with any exceptional results in any sense.

It looks pleasantly contrasted (I assume the photos are unprocessed). I like what I see.
Of course at this size it's difficult to evaluate the detail.

Just picked up a nice clean copy of this 35mm, hopefully taking it out for a walk tomorrow and I'll update thread with results Smile Smile
