Film shots from same time and place as my digital set- http://forum.mflenses.com/stony-brook-crown-reserve-on-the-southwest-miramichi-river-t52012.html

These was the first test of my Exakta RTL 1000 and Zeiss Jenna Flek 25/4. I'm quite happy with the results, considering how little I know about shooting film.

The RTL 1000 doesn't meter. I used a combination of sunny 16 and second guessing with the redneck light meter, i.e. a compact P+S camera zoomed in all the way for spot reading parts of the scene. Oh, and bracketing.

I've been wishing for years to shoot wider, now I've got a poor man's full frame body with great glass.

Cheap drug store film (Easypix 200, the internet rumour mill thinks it's made by Fuji). Dev and scan at the local camera store. Looks OK imho, I'll attempt my own neg scans at some point.

1) across the river

2) looking upriver

3) I'm not sure if this area is old growth forest, but it's definitely been here a long time.

Very nice shots, with just enough movement in the water to suit my tastes.

Nice set, like the you-are-there feel in the 2nd. Does this lens have a big front element, like the 4/20 Flek?

Pretty darn big, it looks a lot like the pics I've seen of the 4/20 Flek :

But it balances nicely, the body is a heavy chunk of camera.

It would benefit using a hood, like the RB67 one for the 65mm lens. Will look like a plumber's helper
stuck on the front of the camera, but hey, will help contrast and flare. Congrats on the nifty combo!

(I'm an Exakta fan)

Yeah #2 would have benefited from a hood, I should get off my butt and track one down.

I'm becoming an Exakta fan too, if only for the prices. I picked up the Flek and a 135/4 Sonnar for relative peanuts, a Pancolar on a body just sold this week for $60, it seems to be the last refuge of the bargain hunter.

Eventually I'll buy a NEX, but it feels great to confirm that this film body I just bought is reliable and now I can take my Exakta lenses off the shelf.
