I had not been thinking this through at all, but I thought if the sensor shift does the focusing, and considering that current NEC cameras expose any lens that doesn't communicate with the body very well, that no communication / electronics between lens and camera would be required. The dumb adapters would include those adapters for modern lenses that require the it to have an aperture ring, those already exist too.
I doubt that Sony would have the legal right to built fully smart adapters for Nikon or Canon lenses that would make their inbuilt stabilization, for those that have it, work.
hopefully soon we will know _________________ my photos on flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/kuuan/collections |

He just posted a photo of the supposed camera but unfortunately it looks like a photoshopped A99 camera, you can even see the red ring of the A99's mount still poking out at the bottom right as if the nex mount was just pasted on top.
The image is definitely suspect, I won't lose all hope because this has happened before once and someone who had seen a real camera made a photoshopped image that looked just like how the real camera turned out but it is a little discouraging. It could be a complete fake or a fake that does truly reflect up how the real camera looks. Time will tell. _________________ - Dave

Sensor shift focusing will not no work on zoom lens or any other primes which internal focus or floating elements etc.. I think it is designed to use A mount lens with different flange focal distance. We will know when the camera and lens comes out. _________________ https://www.instagram.com/_lens_fever/

Sensor shift focusing would be great.
There are already teleconverters that turn MF-lenses to AF with some limitations and at least the Pentax 1.7x AF-converter is really popular. So there should be market for this also. _________________ DSLR: K-5,K20d+Grip, Ist*Ds
