I have no doubts that it's a great lens.

But I saw a copy of 1988, black one, in M39 and with F/22 as the minimal aperture.

Anybody had/have experience with a simil version?

Any commentary?

Thanks in advance.

If it's M39 made in 1988, then it's no Sonnar.
It's probably a soviet Jupiter-9 rangefinder version.

The most of the later black ones are not as sharp as the earlier KMZ lenses from the 1950s.

The Russian RF screwmount lenses are not made to the Leica standard, and focus will be off when used wide-open and close-up. If you are using a mirrorless camera, this is not a problem.

I modified a late Jupiter-9 by replacing the glass with that from an earlier (1958) lens, moved the rear triplet in 2mm to reduce the focal length, for use on a Leica.

Wide-open and close-up, on the Leica M8.

also check to see if it is a m39 SLR mount. these will achieve infinity on canon SLRs with the correct adapters.
