Oh yes! Would be happy to try it on the CCD matrix. Unfortunately no adapter for the Pentax bayonet for my Sony A cameras. _________________ "Sharpness is a bourgeois concept" - © H. Cartier Bresson |

Seems to be a nice lens. Just found one (the AF version) for 50€, so a good reason to buy it. I’ll put it to the test soon. |

It is not bad for the portraiture as well.

Just received my AF version. Apparently, this is one of those sticky Sigma's. Luckily, the former owner took the effort to take the sticky coating of the lens barrel. What's left, is a surprisingly well built lens (metal). It's short as well, and doesn't protrude too much when focusing.
Through the viewfinder it looks pretty sharp. Will make some images, as soon as I find the time. |

Though I share some images I took the Sigma (although mine is the AF version); results should be similar to the MF though. Click for full size.
First, three images @ f/5.6:

SigmaAF9028macrob by devoscasper, on Flickr

Stopped down, the six straight bladed aperture results in harsh bokeh. The Tokina AT-X 90mm f/2.5 or Tamron SP macro are better in this regard, unless you're after creating this 'special effect'.
With the aperture wide open, the results are very beautiful IMO. Perhaps, soft and 'impressionist' at the same time?
