A photographer friend of mine has a Sigma Widerama YS 18mm f3.5 lens in beautiful as new condition which he hasn't used for over 20 years. He's quite happy to sell it for a modest amount but is it worth adding to my armoury? Does anyone have any experience of this lens and its performance?

If you get it for a good price, go for it.
Such a wide angle lens can always be sold again in case you don't like it.

I saw one on ebay with a BIN price of $140. Needless to say it disappeared pretty quickly.

My mistake. On the link it's Filtermatic one. Did Sigma developed two different 18mm designs at the time?

To be honest, I've no idea. Maybe some other more knowledgeable people on this forum may know.
