After being frustrated about having no lenses for my old Spotmatic, I finally broke down and bought the cheapest M-42 lens that I could find on eBay, the lens in the title...

So yeah, what do folks know about this. While I doubt it will come anywhere near my old Nikon Series E 70-210 f/4, I could be wrong and really do want to know if I've just wasted $10 or not...

That lens got around! Soligor, Sears, Vivitar, Lentar, Bushnell and others. I thiink there was a Mamiya/Sekor labeled version of it, too. Actually made by Tokina, or whoever Tokina was back in those days. It's from the early days of zoom lens affordability but you'll have fun with it. Small apertures(f8-f11) and a tripod!

Ditto on all casualcollector says.

Its a very, very common lens, sold under dozens of labels. Not bad, a bit old-fashioned. If yours isn't quite right, get another.

I have it in the Vivitar T4 guise, haven't yet used it though. Quite a monster.

So, it looks like I didn't get a TOTAL lemon... Now I just have to hope the thing actually shows up...
