Just my guess easy to fix weak contrast and nice sharpness even at wide open, look forward your samples!

Thanks for the tip buddy

Schneider-Kreuznach lenses are amongst my fav for the moody low contrast images. I have the 50/2.8 edixa in m39 mount and just love the tones and the mood

I don't know about this specific model. Generally speaking the Xenar in telephoto version is usually a 4-elements 3-groups variation
on the triplet scheme, just like the Tessar by which it was probably "inspirated".

This is a Tessar type. In the Lens Vade Mecum it states that all f4.5 Tessars are 'impressive' so I have no reason to suspect the Schneider version of the Tessar is any less good. However, they were talking about using it on large format, so I'm not sure how sharp it will be on small formats. I suspect it will be of similar sharpness to a 50mm Tessar - around 40lp/mm in the centre which is good enough for nice sharp images on an APS-C sensor in my experience.

You're most welcome, I look forward to seeing some samples, I don't have any Schneider lenses, just an old 6x9 folder with a very nice Radionar.
