Quite impressive. Samyang is doing an excellent job of exploiting the fast MF prime market, seems to me. Wonder what's next . . . perhaps a 50mm f/1.0? A 135mm f/1.8?
Lessee, that's the 8, 14, 35, and 85 I need to get now . . . _________________ Michael

Really nice shoots! It is a tempting lens in did. Only drawback that I see is lens large size. I have Tokina 35/2 and Takumar 35/2 that are much smaller lenses. I had Samyang 85 for my Pentax and I know that they are doing great lenses. Next great lens will be 24 f1,4. _________________ Pentax K20D + eos 5DmkII + 15kg of Takumar lenses

My Samyang 14 is waiting for a better back end (mount + probably focussing) - so I should not be tempted to buy the Samyang 35 for normal prices _________________ Camera modification, repair and DIY - some links to look through: http://www.4photos.de/camera-diy/index-en.html

I am hearing that this kind of minimalistic pictures sell well theses times...
#2
in fact i think i am going to sell the next one for millions, just in case you "don t get it why" i ll explain:
#3
this one rapresents humanitiy, the three layers rapresent three different "evolution" stages, the first one rapresents humanity as it is now, the little holes, scratches on the pavement rappresent all the little things that makes our lifes, all the chaos, you can t see them now, but when i ll print it 30 x 20 meters large you ll see them. The squares rappresent the morality, the rules that try to make some order in our lifes. The bent border of the first layer rappresents the fact that our society is crumblig under it s own weight. Since we all want to progress and aspire to something better we have to elevate ourselfs, we have to make a transition to the second layer. Much better, no more little uninportant rules, but everything is not perfect yet, this is rapresented by the waves. Yet the step to nirvana is at our hand, nirvana is rapresented by the third layer of course, complete freedom and free state of mind. Now you know.

By no means it s a perfect lens or the best 35 mm lens out there. What i absolutly like is the price/quality (at least optical) ratio. Altough i could afford one of them, i just feel they are too expensive for me, as a photographer, after all i am not a pro and this is "just" a hobby for me. I think that the Samyang gives me almost 99% of what the more expensive ones, but i learned many yeras ago, when i was an audiophil, that you have to pay dearly for that 1%.

I have found exactly the same thing! that's why the Samyang 35 1.4 will most likely be my next purchase. -- all of the better options are simply out of the question financially. That, and as you have shown through your samples -- this lens is a fine performer. Yes Michael, the pic of the boys hands was taken wide open and fairly close. The shallow depth and moderatly wide is really nice and opens a lot of potential creativity.
