I took the kids to the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento over the weekend. Its a favorite day trip by train on the Amtrak Capitol Express.

I thought to fit in the assignment of shooting the place in available light, but after a while there, it being so dim, lit artificially for most of the place. and full of shadows, fixing color was more trouble than it was worth. So I went for it and converted the lot to B&W.

Carquinez Strait, remains of fishing piers - shot from the train - OK, so not everything is from the museum.

Abandoned box-cars on an abandoned siding near Vacaville - this shot with my new (ancient, 1950's) Soligor 135 pre-set.

Ok, the museum -

Very good B&W, I especially like # 1, 2, 3, 8 and 11

Luis

You are very brave to try to take anything in that dim hall - I certainly did not even bother, And what great results! The B+W really makes it a terrific series

I really like them. The dim light really adds to the old time mood.

I love the atomosphere brought by the B&W photos.
