Great, I've always wanted a Russar. Let's see how much they are going to charge for it.
That said, M39 is no good for me, I would want one in Kiev/Contax mount.
Of course, the Contax Biogon 4.5/21 is the one to have, but that's an expensive item out of my reach. One day I will get one though. _________________ I don't care who designed it, who made it or what country it comes from - I just enjoy using it! |

The specs are interesting. Sound like they use some sort of "new" material on this lens.

I have never heard about the legendary original?
Does someone here have the original lens?
Is it something to get excited about? (for the price?)
Just curiosity at this point of time as my next lens will probably be a Christmas present |
I was on the hunt for it some time ago, but the ones I found were way too expensive for me.
The new one surely is interesting but it also will not be cheap. _________________ Personal forum activity on pause every now and again (due to job obligations)!

At that price they can keep it, a 4.5/21 Biogon can be had for that much. _________________ I don't care who designed it, who made it or what country it comes from - I just enjoy using it! |

Yes, and I fear that with such price, even "real" Russar will see their price going higher too _________________ Pierre

The examples from nordentro are great. |
but very strong vigneting and color shift, barely useable. It's ok for a cheap lens like Industar-69, but for a 500$ lens, that's kind of pity. This lens is made for film only I guess.
And you can't use it on Nex to infinity, it has same problem as Jupiter-12.
Btw, I just saw on video that they mount it on camera like Olympus or Nex . _________________ Pierre

looks like they priced it at the higher end of the used market.
but about half price from the Biogon?

It depends which Biogon, the old Contax rf one can be had for 600usd. The Contarex one is rarer and more expensive. The G one being much more modern is more expensive again.
I want this one, the original for my Contax IIIa, I wouldn't use it on digital as I hav a couple of excellent 21mms lenses already that don't have any corner issues unlike the Biogon.
