It didn't come with lens caps and is missing the take-up spool, but the
spool I can get from where I have the film processed:

Seems to be in excellent mechanical shape! Smile Will be trying this cam in
a few days.

Wow! That's great!

This is another thing I am dreaming about. Maybe next time my budget will cover it. Some of those TLRs are not that expensive anymore.

Hi Carsten,
I got this cam for a little over $81 delivered. I've ordered lens caps and
will have several caps to spare if someone needs a double cap for rollei,
yashica, minolta, ricoh, TLRs that take the Bay 1 cap. Here's my
emergency caps while waiting for them to arrive, taken from empty
bleach bottles:

Thoroughly rinsed and dried, of course. Smile

I've been out taking some pics, but have a question: this cam requires
you to press down the shutter lock which comes right back to its original
position. When I depress the shutter release, there's only a tiny click, no
"ka-chunk" like a 35mm and no where as loud as my Kowa. Is this
normal or do I have a problem? It just doesn't seem like I'm taking a
picture.

Sounds normal to me. It used to be the same with my father's Zeiss Super Ikonta.

Orio,
I've been talking to Rick Oleson about this and will try his suggestion
tomorrow morning when there's light: set focus as close as possible and
the shutter at 1/30 or slower to check to see if the blades are opening/
closing. It'll burn up one frame, but that's little to pay to see if it's
functioning correctly. I don't think the pic will turn out of my ugly mug,
but will see.

Maybe the "chunk" on a SLR is the sound of the mirror returning?

What I've heard called "mirror slap" yes. I sent this Ricohflex today to
Rick Oleson for diagnostics, treatment. Smile The shutter is stuck closed. Mad
I also received today the Ricohflex Dia L and its shutter works perfectly!
It's the step-up model that has the light meter and shutter speeds to
1/500.

Here's some quick pics of my recent arrival. I decided to show it "perky"
with viewer and cover to light sensor, up. Wink

Really happy with this, got it for $20 less than the Dia G.
