Yesterday I made a mini trip to Turkey
As we had good weather in Greece, I go like a tourist with just a t-shirt

A small walk at the harbor

then the rain start

We had to stay in the market galleries
I felt a little stupid with my 200 iso film

When we leave, sun came back

happy to return to the sun

Very nice series in spite of rain!
Actually rain made it a bit unsual perhaps.
Love the second to last picture (the portrait).

You left the name of lens at the bottom like a painting signature Wink

I have to show respect for a lens who can paint the world even better than my memory

I agree with Orio - I like the portrait. But the harbour/boatyard scenes are also good with nice intense colours.

Congrats Poilu, great series.
I love #6, the blue boat from the sea, and the portrait one as well.

Thanks for sharing!

Jes.

I really enjoyed this series. at first I could not explain myself why. Then I understood. These photos are not empty. Life is in those pictures. And it captures.

I love them all.
Your photos always tell a story Poilu. It is always a pleasure to view them.
The Portrait is so jovial. Is this person your friend. She looks happy Smile

I felt there was something special about these images - and now I think it is the lens! Such beautiful colors, and somehow intimate feel. Of course, the photographer is simply brilliant as well.

Very colorful shots, and looks like you had a great time! I hope you wore
trousers or shorts with that T shirt! Laughing

thanks! we don't have such greens here, it was nice and I am happy the lens capture it

thanks! it was the first time I see such rays like in religious illustrations
I was anxious if the film could capture them

thanks! when I was there before 6 years, it was a interesting place with busy market. Now everything is hyper touristic and you don't see a single Turk shopping there. This is not anymore a paradise for photographer.
I pay 4 euro for a hot chocolate, the 5 euro for Carsten photokina sausage look quite cheap.

I don't know her but I was happy she was there to fill my shot ( in fact I was trying to take the rays of light Wink )

There is nothing special in those pics...
I am very sad when Jes say he didn't have pics for the best shots of 2008.
Every pic have a little story about the place we visit and it doesn't have to be a masterwork to be shared with friends
I still evaluate film and I try to improve colors of my bellows scanning procedure.
Everybody is so political correct here and never post a negative comments,
that doesn't help me, I would prefer to know if the colors, contrast, saturation look real or if I just made a mess in my bellows scanning procedure
it take me 7 min by roll of 40 scans, about 10 sec by pic with handling, not too bad

I enjoy this lens on film, even wide open the border are clean
On my crop dslr, I don't like the 17mm (=28mm) of my Tamron 17-50 who is a POS for details and distortion. Even the Zuiko 24 2.8 (=39mm) is not up to my standard
I am very happy to discover the real 28mm thanks to film and I advice everybody with crop to do the same.
Also on film, properties of the lens are more visible. In digital, every lens is leveled down.

we use to joke about the tourist who wore T-shirt under the rain in October. Now I can feel them a little better Cool

I post a lot of sun in the weather thread, it was the occasion to show that I got some rain too, even if I had to go to Turkey

I really like this late-summer rain! When everything is still warm and suddenly it just pours but it doesn't get cold.

You did well (even with your ISO200 film Wink) and the lens/cam, too. I like your shots a lot.
