I tried to photograph at the Georgia Aquarium, really I did. That place was crowded and there were so many children running around, I thought I was going to loose my mind. I made a decision to only use manual focus lenses. I went to see the Whale Sharks that are on display and spent about 20 minutes just watching them. The largest one on display was 21 feet long and there were a total of 4 on display. There are also well over 10,000 other fish in the tank. I will share 2 of the photos that I have processed so far (many more to look at). No flash, ISO 2000, Nikon 1.8/85

Who is watching who?

Good job Mike.

Those groupers look as big as the people watching them.

what a nice panorama!
it's a pity no light enough & iso 2000 but superb result for the condition

Very nice photos, they make you feel the water is actually there.

Thank You!
I have some others that I will process eventually.
The acrylic was slightly curved and it had seams of distortion every 10 to 15 feet. It was also about 12" thick. The tank holds 6.3 million gallons of water.

Wonderful pictures Mike. I tried to take a few photographs at the aquarium at Sydney and it certainly isn't easy.

I have a feeling that autofocus might be hunting all the time in these light conditions. Which means you did a cracking job by eye. Well done.

BOTH images have a beautiful dimensionality. I love the whale shark, but somehow the Groupers really pull me in!

NICE work indeed!

I like the composition of the image of Francine! Very cool, and she has an enigmatic sort of half-smile that is flattering.
