Since we all fear fungus and fungus fears light, I'd love to have transparent caps for both ends of my lenses. Any idea if such products exist?

Attila does the UV filter stop the right sort of light getting into the lens to keep the fungus from growing?....only asking as I don't know.Better with the UV filter for protection or better with out to let all the light in.Might be a dumb question but I need to know....Thanks Smile

I use UV filters on my lenses to protect them in my transparent lens storage case and have wondered the same thing.

I think the main thing is to keep the storage area dry. I manage this by keeping a Hygrometer in the room, running a couple of dehumidifiers in the house and keeping a couple of rechargeable silicone packs in the lens case.

I have the clear plastic containers plus the re chargeable silicone in old film containers with holes drilled into them,I have to reactivate them in the oven about once a month due to the Hot weather and crap design of the house to keep the temp even.
I just got some of the damp rid type stuff that you get from hardware stores and see if that will help.
