This is completely untouched except for resizing, and I think the crop shows a very good rendition of the red.

I agree completely. I use my pentax smc F 35-70 for anything with lots of red because of this. This lens is looking better all the time!

Whisper it quietly, the Pentax smc F 35-70 is a great and very under rated lens.
