Went hiking by myself in the Mount Jefferson Wilderness today. First shot is on the way, all the rest are from a butte that rose up above most everything. Mt. Jefferson and Three Fingered Jack are shown.

All photos except the close up of Mount Jefferson are with Vivitar 28mm, the close up is with Tamron SP 60-300mm.

Not a panorama, but this guy did not make it over the log jam.

Fantastic shots!
#4 is great and it's sad to see such a waste of lumber

In 2002 someone sparked a forest fire, hence all the dead trees.

Nice to see such fine shots from the hinterland of this beautiful state. Except that I want to keep this place secret - so few people outside understand how lovely the place is. My wife refers to it as the "Oh look" state, since that is what she says whenever we go round a bend in the road! (She's from NY). Very Happy Very Happy

Beautiful landscapes very well caught !
... but quite sad.

I hope nature, especially the forest, will reborn from these ashes.
Would you know how long it could take ?

@ nkanellopoulos : how do you do to have some of your last pictures in your signature ?

I have included a link to an image (using BBCode) in my signature. The target image lives in my personal website. Which means, I do not even consume the forum's bandwidth Smile

Ahh ! Okay, thank you very much for the tip.
I thought it had to do with Attila's great special developments on this site. Wink
