KIEV 80 F2.8 ARSAT C (62) (KIEV 66/88CM, PENTACON 6)
I have an opportunity to purchase this lens for less than $50. Do any of you have experience with this lens? I have searched for reviews or comments but can not find much at all. _________________ Canon 400D & 350D

I haven't got it but I've got the Volna 3. Reviews suggest that the Arsat is similar and perhaps marginally better. Both a bit soft wide open but by f/5.6 they are equal to the CZJ Biometar. 50$ looks like a good price to me. _________________ John |

The price for a 80mm lens is what attracted me. I really want one to use for portraits. I guess if I dont like it, I can always sell it as 80mm lenses are quite popular and a little pricey. _________________ Canon 400D & 350D

What you say it's true for 35mm format. This lens is medium format lens same category than 50mm on 35mm format. Don't expect easy sell. _________________ -------------------------------

I had a Volna 3 and it's the only lens I've ever sold.
Kept it about 2 months. Used it twice. It had my interest at first but when I got my Tamron 90/2.5 macro, I knew the Volna would not get as much use. Nothing wrong with it at all. Good colour, bokeh, contrast. I didn't find it to be spectacular at anything. _________________ Casual attendance these days |
