They will be beautiful and nice subjects to try your lenses on.
I have never heard of a strawberry tree.
Oh, nice photos of them also. _________________ Ron |

A nice selection Orio. I love the Oleanders but I don't think that they would survive our winters. _________________ John |

If you live near the coast, you should not have much problems thanks to the Gulf current, as long as you plant them facing south in a sunny spot, and that they have a wall at their back at north.
This is actually how I will plant them also, and in the same place I will also put an Olive and a Myrtle.
Another precautions I will add, around October or as soon as cold arrives, is to make wind shields at the West and East sides using bricks. I will leave only the south side without shelter.
Finally, at the same time, I will also "dress" the trunks and the main branches with this type of canvas:
which provides warmth and at the same time lets the water transpire.
I will also provide some shelter to the ground near the trunk, by using either a layer of dead leaves, or old door mats. Both have to be frequently moved on and off to prevent water stagnation.
After 4-5 years, the roots should have gone deep enough not to fear winters anymore.
Last September I planted a Strawberry tree which has survived this whole winter (which was cold) without any type of protection, and it wasn't in a sheltered position. _________________ Orio, Administrator

Here is one with fruits:
Flowering takes place in the autumn, and fruits appear in late spring and they stay on all summer.
They can be really spectacular, especially in early Autumn, where on the same tree you have both the white flowers, and the fruits, which range from yellow to red and the shades in between.
At this moment (beginning of June) fruits are still small and most of them are green, only a few are beginning to turn colour. _________________ Orio, Administrator
